Q: What is your name?

A: Brendon Gray

Q: Where is your hometown and where are you located now?

A: I’m a second generation born and raised Kelowna resident.  

Q: What program did you take at OC? 

A: Electrical Apprenticeship and Sustainable Building Technology (SBT).

Q: What is your current position?

A: Principal at Egnite Sustainability and Registered Energy Advisor.

Q: Why did you choose your program at OC? How does it relate to what you’re doing now?

A: It was a forward-thinking program which provided students with the skills required to support the construction industry toward achieving its provincial climate action goals.

Q: What was one of your most meaningful memories during your time at OC?

A: Our capstone projects and the students I graduated with.

Q: What do you think has been the biggest turning point for your career success?

A: Being a part of the SBT program - halfway through the program a guest speaker was brought in to present on energy efficiency consulting and the new BC Energy Step Code. I found my calling and went for it.

Q: Are there any awards, achievements or activities that you would like to highlight?

A: I am currently sitting as co-chair for the Canadian Home Builders Association – Central °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û²éѯ’s Step Code Committee. Egnite has had tremendous wins and growth over the past two years; we are providing our consulting services to some of the most well-known builders, developers and architects in the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û²éѯ.

Q: What advice would you pass on to current/future students?

A: When you find your passion or calling, set attainable goals and work towards achieving them.

Q: When you’re not working, what are you doing?

A: Getting out and enjoying all the amenities and recreational activities our great area has to offer.
